• Northgate makes beautiful keyboards which unfortunately tend to reprogram themselves into uselessnes while you are playing Quake, Hexen, Heretic, or Doom. After a very disappointing encounter with their ``astute technical support team which has earned numerous industry awards from PC Magazine, PC World, Computer Shopper and many others'' I flamed them a new asshole and CCed it to the potatoheads at Ziff-Davis.

  If you ever expect to buy a machine from VA Research (who sell machines with Linux pre-installed, and do a mighty fine job of it) make sure you hassle them about their choice of keyboards. If you want to buy a machine with Linux pre-installed, but also plan to play Quake, or any other games that use the shift key a lot, tell VA that, thanks, but you want to buy a machine that will WORK. Then buy from somewhere else.

• Riddler made the mistake of crossing my path, and they even referred to ``my web page''(singular). Basically Riddler's scam is that they create gimmicks on the world-wide web that suck in surfers to see advertisements. I even added an entry for them on my Kid-Tested Mother-Approved page (and they never emailed me to tell me that the game was over). However, this time, they're offering me money, but I have to agree to a contract which turns out to be BULLSHIT!. Not being a kind man, I told them this in detail.
